The 100th Day Celebration!

We had a wonderful day celebrating the 100 days that we have been together in kindergarten!

What does 100 years old look like? How long is 100 seconds?  Can I eat 100 things for snack?

Today we had fun with all of these questions and more!

We had 10 important things to do today.  Each activity was numbered by 10.

10: Make our hats! (We are 100 days BRIGHTER!)

20: Add each of our faces to the poster "We have been friends for 100 days!"

30: Calendar. We have been so excited to change our calendar to 100 days.  We moved our 10 groups of 10 over to the hundreds column! Woo HOO!!!

40: Fashion Show!
We had some AWESOME posters and t-shirts!  So creative!

Students were able to show off their t-shirts and posters in our first Fashion Show of 2017, complete with techno music and clapping!  We have some pretty awesome poses!

Math STATION time!

50: Painting a monster with 100 dots.  There were 10 paint colors and students used each color to paint 10 dots = 100 dots!

60: Gumball machine with 100 gumballs!  Using dobbers, students created 10 "gumballs" of each of the 10 different colored dobbers.

70: How many jumping jacks can you complete in 100 seconds?  Whew!
When students finished, they played a game on the 100's chart.  Who can roll the dice and make it to 100 first?

80: Using a paper 1, 0, and 0, students tried to use their imagination to create something new.  We had students that created a pretzel, a monster truck, glasses and a snowman!  Such creativity!

90: 100th Day snack!
Students counted out their snack into groups of 10 to see if they really had 100 tiny pieces of snack.  We had a few kids admit that they got hungry last night after they counted them and ate one or two!!  I LOVE their honesty!

100: We wound down our crazy day by listening to the story 100 Worries by Margery Cuyler
