Sight Words:
she, go, this

This is Week 7 of our sight words.
Your child has a username and password to enjoy more games and activities at Spelling City.  I will be sending a letter home with this information this week.  Please use this resource to help keep it fun!

Letter of the Day:
We will begin Rotation 2 through the Letter of the Day.  This round we will review the handwriting and focus on the SOUND that each letter makes.  We are encouraging sound spelling this quarter!

Reading/Writing:
Our Story-Pumpkin Town

I will be introducing our Reading Strategies .  Our first one is "Eagle Eye".  It encourages readers to look at the picture to help them read unknown words.  Please encourage this at home as well.

Writing: Writers make their writing easy to read so that they can share it with others.

Math:
Review numbers 0-10
5 Little Pumpkins
Numbers 11 & 12

Teacher Notes:
PUMPKIN PATCH!
  • Wednesday, October 18th, 12:45-2:45  Please note that we are in the afternoon.  Our morning will proceed as usual.  We will eat lunch and then we will head to the bus.  We are hoping to arrive at Stuckmeyer's at 1:00 for our scheduled hayride.  Adults will be asked to pay $5 at the entrance to enter the hayride with the students.  *Dismissal Clarification: Since students will not be returning to Sappington until after 2pm, parents can sign their child out from Stuckmeyer's.  I will be bringing a sign out sheet with me.  Please let me know if you plan to do this.  If I don't hear from you, I will assume that your child will be returning to Sappington with me and will be following their typical dismissal routine.
Parent Teacher Conferences:
  • I have attached the schedule we made together on "Back To School" night in August. Please check and confirm that the date/time works for you. If you need a different time, please look and see what is available.
  • Please review your child's report card this week and return the YELLOW form so that I can best utilize our 15 minutes together.
