Week of 8/20

We had a great first couple of days.  I hope you were able to see some of what we did on the class Facebook Page.  If you "like" the page, you can get notifications when I post.  We have an exciting week ahead of us!

Teacher Notes:
Needed: I am in need of a LEAD parent for both the AM and PM classes.  I will be providing a sign up genius page for our parents and the LEAD parent will contact the parents that volunteered, make sure they have sent in their snack/games/craft and will run that party.  You can sign up for 1 party only or for several parties.  We have the Halloween party, Winter party & Valentines/Friendship party.  Please let me know if you can help.

Needed:I am also in need of a parent(s) that would be willing to attend SPTG meetings (usually 7pm on Tuesdays) and can type up an email that summarizes what happened in the meeting that I will forward to the other parents to keep them informed.  Please let me know if you can help or if you already plan to attend! Thank you!

Blog: You can enter your email address to receive emails when I update our class blog.  It should send you an email to verify that your email is correct.  Please follow those directions, so you can stay up to date with our blog.

Special Student: We are starting Special Student on Wednesday.  I am sending home "I'm An Awesome Kindergartner" and "Guess Who" papers on Monday, please return them ASAP.  We will be using these to learn more about one another.

Classroom Calendar: Please check if you have any questions.

Sappington Parent Teacher Group
The Sappington Parent Teacher Group (SPTG) is excited for a fun year of events!  We will have our first meeting Tuesday, September 4 at 7:00 PM in the school library.  Please come and learn about upcoming events and happenings.   If you have any questions, please send an email to sappingtonptg@lindberghschools.ws
-Amanda Spies, President and Jen Parmeley, Vice-President

In order to make the classroom party experience for each classroom more equitable, SPTG has decided to collect a party fee of $5-7/child.  The money will be divided evenly between every classroom for each party.  Classroom teachers will use funds from the party fee to purchase party snacks.  This will ensure snacks have met our district food policy guidelines and are "nurse approved."  Additional funds can support paper products, games, crafts, etc if needed.  Please look for further communication about when to send in the party fee.

Intake Conferences
The first six weeks of the year are crucial as we build relationships and develop communities in our classrooms and school. Parents and family members are highly important to this process, and we are excited to invite you in to participate in our new parent/teacher conference format on September 5 and 13 from 4:00-7:00 PM. These Intake Conferences are our opportunity to learn from you, as the experts, about your child. The conversations will support our home-school partnership and further develop the two-way communication that is so important to our collective efforts with Lindbergh students.
