Week of 11/12

Please send in a plain white, t-shirt marked with your child's name by Wednesday, November 14th.

Homework due Friday.

Scholastic Book Orders are due Friday 11/16. If you want your purchase to be sent home in a disguised grocery bag, please let me know.

SEESAW reminder: It looks like there are only 9 students who have families that are connected to Seesaw. We use this online portfolio to give parents a window into the classroom of what your child is working on. Please let me know if you need a new set of directions or if you would like me to send you an invitation via email. We'd love for you to see all that your child is doing in Room 8!

This is week 11, the last week for List 1 sight words.  Next week we will begin "Round 2".
Round 2:
We will have List 1 (the 33 words we just completed) again only this time most students will be expected to read and write the sight words.  This will be determined based on their Reading Readiness and how they've performed with Round 1.   List 2 (30 new words that are also high frequency words) may be introduced to students who are doing well with List 1 and need to be challenged.  This may be subject to change, as your child's word knowledge develops over the next 11 weeks.
A letter will go home this week, informing you of what YOUR child's weekly sight word expectations will be.  These expectations will be the same for the words that your child practices each week during homework.   Let me know if you have any questions!
