Week of 8/21 (please read! Eclipse information)

We had a great first couple of days.  I hope you were able to see some of what we did on the class FB page.  We have an exciting week ahead of us!

Eclipse: If you have not let me know what your child is going to do for the eclipse, please take a second to fill out the 2 questions on this Google form.
Options:
  1. Keep child home from school and enjoy the eclipse from your home or other locations.  Please let me know if your child does not plan to attend.  I have heard from several of you already and I appreciate the heads up!
  2. "Opt out" room:  We have a form that can be completed (or send me an email) that indicates you would like for your child to opt out of going outside to view the solar eclipse.  There will be a classroom that will allow the students to view a safe version of the eclipse through NASA'swebsite.
  3. Going outside to view the Solar Eclipse:  I will be taking the students outside.  We have a pair of glasses for each child.  We will be taping them to a paper crown that will help stabilize them to their head.  Kdg. students have tents/pavilions to help protect them from directly looking at the sun.  We do not plan to have them take their glasses off to directly view the sun at this time.  We will be here to experience the change in light and listen for the animals to be confused and act strange.
